ROTARY ON THE GREEN
The Montrose Rotary held their 2nd Rotary On The Green event on May 23rd. Once again the event was a huge success with proceeds benefitting the building funds of four organizations: Endless Mountains Health System, Montrose Fire Company, Minute Men Ambulance Service, and the Susquehanna County Library. The theme of the event "Grow Your Own" described some of the booths available including a plant sale, gardening related raffle, silent auction, flea market, bake sale, and lots of food. The beautiful weather was a welcomed extra. Thanks to all who gave of their time and effort.
* STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Montrose Rotary is proud to honor a deserving student from one of the two local high schools each month. In May, one honoree from
each school is awarded a Rotary scholarship. The Rotary Student Of The Month for February is Kenneth Kiefer. Ken is a senior at the Susquehanna County Career and Technology Center. He is a tutor for the National Honor Society and will be attending the Universal Technical Institute in the automotive program.

ROTARY DICTIONARY PROJECT
On February 5, 2009 members of the Montrose Rotary Club distributed dictionaries to all the 3rd grade students at Lathrop Street and Choconut Elementary schools. Rotarians Bob Kross, John Webster, & Barbara Webster went into the classrooms and did a short presentation on how important it is to master the English language. Rotary recognizes that today's students are tomorrow's leaders and hopes to make this an annual project.
