Rotary Club of The Smithfields

   DGE Bob and Doris

Bob Wehe began his Rotary service in The Rotary Club of the Stroudsburgs, a lunch club, in 1980.  After about a year and a half and a job change, Bob could no longer maintain his attendance and left Rotary.  In 1989 Bob was asked to join The Rotary Club of the Smithfields, an expansion breakfast club, and has had perfect attendance since returning.  Bob has served as Club Director, Secretary, Treasurer and President.  Bob’s wife, Doris is also a Rotarian in the same club and has served as club Secretary. 

Bob’s diversified District assignments have included Assistant Governor, Cluster Foundation Representative, Speaker at RYLA, Facilitator at PETS, District Conference Chair and District Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) Chair.  Bob is also on the RLI Faculty. 

Bob graduated from Cornell University with a degree in business in 1967.  One week after graduation he wed his wife of 40 plus years, Doris.  Shortly he was drafted as a Private in the U. S. Army.  Four years later he was discharged as a Captain.  Bob moved to the Poconos in 1977 and started as a sales person with LTS Builders in 1982.  In 2005 Bob retired as Executive Sales Manager and Real Estate Broker.  Since retirement Bob and Doris have filled their lives with volunteering. 

Bob has been to Honduras with Operation Honduras three times and recently went to India for a Polio National Immunization Day (NID).  Bob and Doris are Major Donors to the Rotary Foundation and Members of the Rotary Bequest Society.  Bob is a Charter and Sustaining Member of the Paul Harris Society.  

Bob has two hobbies.  He is an amateur digital photographer that specializes in nature and landscapes.  He is also a singer with the East Stroudsburg University Community Chorus, his church choir and any other venue that allows him.
